My journey to feeling strong and healthy didn’t happen overnight—it started long ago.
I vividly remember being in 7th grade when my doctor told my mom that my BMI was high. I didn’t fully understand what that meant, but I knew it wasn’t good. Growing up, I was always slightly heavier than my friends, and let’s be honest—kids can be pretty mean. It effected my self-esteem and left me feeling out of place.
Food became my comfort. With my parents being chefs, I was always surrounded by delicious meals, and eating felt like a source of happiness. However, as I grew older, my relationship with food turned complicated. It became a way to cope with my insecurities, leading to guilt and frustration.
Fast forward to adulthood where life became even more challenging.
As a working mom managing a demanding job and two active children who loved playing sports, I often felt overwhelmed. I was constantly juggling responsibilities, leaving little time for myself. I remember looking in the mirror and feeling disappointed in the person I saw—exhausted, overworked, and unhappy. I knew I needed to prioritize my health, but it often felt impossible. I frequently found myself at the bottom of my own priority list, neglecting my well-being while trying to support everyone around me.
My struggle took a toll on my marriage; I was so unhappy that intimacy with my husband felt distant. I know many women can relate—how can someone feel desirable when they don’t feel good about themself?
In my mind, being smaller equated to being happier.
So, I made a commitment to change my life. I tried various meal plans and extreme workouts, but nothing felt sustainable. I would often crash, binge, and then succumb to that familiar guilt. The exhaustion compounded, leading to discomfort and worsened my asthma and sleeping issues.
bent down to pick something up at work, and in a mortifying moment, the button on my pants popped off! As I sat at my desk, tears began to flow. I felt a mix of frustration and determination, and I thought, I am not going to live like this. That moment marked the beginning of my commitment to change.
Fueled by newfound determination, I immersed myself in workout routines, hired a personal trainer, and explored various dietary plans. I saw some progress, but I needed a fresh motivation.
That’s when my best friend, Katie, shared her incredible new discovery.
She showed me a recent photo of her sister, Jessica, and I was amazed—she looked stunning! She was always chubby throughout school, but not anymore!
She was lean and more beautiful than I had ever seen her before. Katie told me that Jessica had found success with a simple water recipe and that she was already down 6 inches herself. Their success inspired me, and I thought, What do I have to lose?
So, I decided to give it a try!
I went from an unhealthy 185 to a slim 132.
Embracing the water recipe has been a game-changer for me! I went from feeling defeated and unhappy to rediscovering my joy for life, wearing a smile that had been missing for years. There was a time when I worried my marriage wouldn’t survive, but now my husband and I are closer than ever!
I’m no longer exhausted; my kids have a happy and healthy mom who can keep up with them, and even my husband can’t keep his hands off me! The water recipe has worked wonders not just for me, but also for my 68-year-old aunt, my sister, and my husband, who has now dropped a few pant sizes.
So, just like me, what do you have to lose? Just a few inches around the waist, perhaps?
